We are pleased to share that we have officially energised Kemble Solar Farm in Gloucestershire, marking the delivery of our first flagship project in our 600 MWp construction and operation pipeline. This milestone signals the start of our transition from a pure-play developer into a major UK independent power producer.

Located across Cotswold and Wiltshire District Council boundaries, Kemble Solar Farm was consented in April 2022, with construction commencing in the Spring of 2025. The site started exporting its first megawatts earlier this month, reaching full production at the end of February.

The project showcases significant engineering success, successfully navigating complex groundworks and the installation of a sophisticated 7km, 33kV cable route to connect directly into the local distribution network. ICP works were delivered by Powersystems UK and EPC work by ib vogt.

As with the rest of our portfolio, the electricity generated by Kemble Solar Farm will be sold via an AR5 CfD, providing long-term revenue certainty and contributing to downward pressure on energy bills for consumers. We received more success at this year's AR7 CfD Allocation Round securing contracts for 152MWp across three solar projects.

In addition to power generation, the site has been designed to deliver a 27% Biodiversity Net Gain, featuring over seven acres of new woodland planting alongside new hedgerows and wildflower meadows. A community benefit fund of £20,000 per annum has also been established to support local initiatives for the duration of the project’s 40-year lifespan.

“This is an incredibly proud moment for everyone at Aura Power,” says Simon Coulson, CEO of Aura Power. “Kemble Solar Farm is the first of ten projects in Aura’s construction and operation pipeline and marks a defining moment for the strategic evolution of Aura Power. I want to thank our internal team, partners, suppliers, and the local community for their support. We are also very grateful to our land partners, the Bathurst Estate, who have been a pleasure to work with on this project.”

With Kemble fully operational, we are progressing the remainder of our 600 MWp portfolio. This includes the 128 MWp Grimsby and Burtree Lane sites, which are expected to reach completion this spring, and a further 163 MWp all under construction this year.
