Hasland

Solar Farm

Aura Power (who recently merged with Verdant Energy and now operate as Aura Power) has nearly completed construction on Hasland Solar Farm on land south of Chesterfield, Derbyshire.

‍‍The hybrid site was built without subsidy and will generate enough electricity to power the equivalent of up to 7,813 homes, saving around 6,867 tonnes of CO2 from entering the atmosphere each year.‍

The UK Government has targeted to triple current levels of solar capacity by 2030, which is critical in decarbonising our electricity grid. Solar power is one of the cheapest, most readily-deployable energy sources we have, and it will be a key part of achieving homegrown, clean power by 2030.

This solar farm offers a number of benefits locally with 20% net gains in biodiversity and annual contributions of over £100,000 in business rates to North East Derbyshire District Council.
