Finance Business Partner

Location:

Bristol

Aura Power is looking for an experienced Finance Business Partner who is an excellent communicator and passionate about getting the numbers right. An interest in renewables and a willingness to learn what it takes to develop grid scale projects is essential. This will be a great role for someone who wants to make their mark as a core member of the FP&A team and support our development team in making these projects a reality.

What experience you’ll need/ Is this the job for you?

You don’t need to be from a renewables background, but you do need to be willing to learn as it will be essential you understand the development process. Experience supporting managers in the budgeting and forecasting process, including reviewing variances and challenging anomalies is essential. You will be working closely with different teams across the business and development teams globally, so you need to be a strong communicator with the ability to tailor your approach to your audience.

Strong Excel skills are essential, and knowledge of GSheets is desirable. Experience using Google Apps Script would be a bonus.

Salary:

£45,000 - £55,00 - negotiable, depending on experience

Planning Assistant

Location:

UK, Bristol

What we’re looking for

We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and self-motivated individual to join our UK development team as a Planning Assistant/ Planner (depending on experience). You will most likely be someone early in your planning career, with ideally a couple years of professional experience, who is either working towards or has recently become a chartered planner.

What you’ll be doing

We develop large scale solar and battery storage projects in the UK, Canada, the US, Italy, Portugal, Lithuania, Spain, Germany and Ireland, working closely with landowners and local stakeholders to develop our sites to the highest standards.

As our Planning Assistant or Planner, you will be a key member of the UK Development  Team, supporting the Head of Planning, working alongside our current Planning Assistant and having a direct working relationship with the rest of the UK Development Team.

Day-to-day work will include a mix of technical, analytical, problem solving and project management tasks. For the right candidate, there is potential for this role to grow and develop according to their interests and abilities.

Salary:

£30,000 - 35,000

Business Development Assistant - Germany

Location:

Germany - Remote

As an assistant, you are an important part of the German project development team and work closely with the management team in Germany and partly with the British team. As a business development assistant, your focus is on:

  • Contacting landowners in Germany to identify potential areas for assessment and acquisition and initiate contract negotiations,
  • Contacting approval authorities, municipalities and other project participants,
  • Support with project processes and grid connection applications,
  • Coordination of marketing measures.

Project Manager / Owner's Engineer

Location:

Bristol

You have experience managing the pre-construction phase of large solar farms and taking them into - and ideally through - construction, to include:

  • Managing the delivery and pre construction of large scale solar PV projects in the UK and in Lithuania
  • Experience with/knowledge of HV grid connections (e.g. 380kV/400kV)
  • Experience/knowledge of solar plant design - electrical (PVSyst and yield calculations), mechanical, civils
  • You have undertaken Due Diligence on large scale solar projects
  • Solar supply chain knowledge/network - panels, inverters, mounting structures, cabling and related costs and lead times
  • 3+ years experience of demonstrable utility Solar PV experience

Ideally, you’re a qualified project manager that has solid experience with EPC and ICP contracts/contractors and your background is technical engineering.

You are able to travel to Lithuania and around the UK potentially once a month but may be less or more at times depending on what's needed. While in Lithuania, you’ll meet with Aura Power’s local development team and with local contractors.

Salary:

Germany Project Development Manager BESS

Location:

Remotely within Germany, preferably in East Germany

We are currently looking for an experienced site project developer for large-scale battery storage to expand our German team!

Your tasks are as follows:

  • You are responsible for the initiation and development of battery storage and solar projects in an assigned region in Germany.
  • You take responsibility for building a project pipeline for your region.
  • You contact property owners to identify potential properties for acquisition, evaluate them and initiate contract negotiations. You are the first point of contact for the approval authorities, municipalities and other project participants.
  • They coordinate the building law with the responsible authorities and accompany the projects until they are ready for construction.
  • They coordinate grid connection requests and are in contact with the grid operators.
  • Your tasks include developing the acquired projects, controlling project progress and coordinating those involved in the project (e.g. planners).
